Robert Bland is the driving force behind the LifeQuotes' strategy to revolutionize and improve the way people
buy insurance. After watching his fellow agency associates painstakingly calculate insurance premium quotations by
hand, Mr. Bland wrote a business plan in 1984 which called for the automation of the comparative insurance rating
process. Mr. Bland founded Quotesmith Corporation in 1984 and spent the next nine years building the databases,
convincing over 300 leading insurance companies to contribute their information and providing the first online
insurance quote services to agents and brokers. In 1993 the Company shifted its customer focus and began providing
quotes and information directly to information-hungry consumers. Before founding Quotesmith in 1984, Mr. Bland was
president of Security Funding Corporation, a privately held general lines insurance agency. In 1996, Quotesmith was
among the very first firms to provide instant quotes on the Internet.
In August of 1999, Bland led the Company through a successful, $64 million initial public offering. By allowing
people to obtain their own quotes and purchases from the company of their choice, Bland and his team have dramatically
improved and streamlined the way people buy insurance. The Quotesmith.com website was launched in May 1996 and has
won numerous awards and accolades including a "Top 100 Most Useful Website" by MSN Money in 2009. Quotesmith.com
changed its name to Insure.com in May 2006. In 2009 the Insure.com name was sold for $16 million in cash, which was
then widely reported as the highest-ever price paid for an Internet address.
Today, Mr. Bland currently serves as chairman, president and CEO of LifeQuotes.com, an
internet-based agency that consists of 150 insurance professionals and work-from-home agents. Mr. Bland is active in
the company on a full time basis, providing vision and strategic leadership to the Company as it accelerates its
business and its consumer branding efforts. The Company specializes in the sale of term life insurance and has amassed
a customer list exceeding 325,000, making it one of the largest books of business ever assembled by a single
agency. Current initiatives at Life Quotes for 2013 include introduction of America's first life insurance policy for
skydivers, re-entry into the health insurance brokerage market and the launching of lead-generation website
Mr. Bland holds a B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Colorado (1975) and earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 2006. Mr. Bland also holds a Master's Degree in Business from the University of Notre Dame (2013).
Robert Goss joined Life Quotes in July of 2012 as Executive Vice President responsible for the operations and sales for the Company.
Previously he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of WNC Insurance Services, Inc. (“WNC”), a managing general underwriter for various excess and surplus carriers that manages over $150 million in premium. He was involved in the private equity purchase and led the successful sale of WNC’s private equity ownership. Prior to joining WNC, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Aon Risk Services Companies, Inc. (“Aon”), a $1.3 billion Americas retail insurance brokerage subsidiary of the $8 billion Aon Corporation. During his time at Aon, he oversaw the planning and consolidation of the retail insurance brokerage operations and supervised the licensing and insurance compliance functions in the U.S. he also led the financial and operational review, as well as the negotiation, of over 30 acquisition targets around the world. Prior to joining Aon, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Transco Inc. (“Transco”), a $50 million privately-held manufacturer and constructor of insulation for electric generating plants. At Transco, he managed the operations of the company, including the profit and loss statements and strategic planning responsibilities. He also served as the Chief Financial Officer for four years, supervising all financial reporting, audit, banking, and insurance relationships. Prior to this he served as Director of Finance for Gapers, Stop and Shop and Hillman’s Foods. He began his in public accounting and consulting at Coopers and Lybrand.
He received a B.S. in Accounting and Management, and Masters of Business Administration, from University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Illinois.
Michelle Zieba became the Vice President of Sales in February of 2014. As Vice President of Sales, she oversees multiple departments, including Recruiting, Training, and managing over 50 agents.
She began at LifeQuotes.com in September 2007 as a Sales Agent selling in all 50 states, later promoted to Sales Manager, then 9 months later promoted to Sales Director. In 2010, we launched the Outside Agent program, which allows licensed agents to work from home and was made manager of an Outside Agent Team before being asked to oversee and complete the recruiting, training and managing of all the licensed insurance agents.
