Avoiding certain habits and activities, that can greatly increase the risk of cancer, is a cost-effective and long-term solution for keeping a low premium for one’s life insurance.

In fact, the World Health Organization recently pointed out that least one-third of all cancer cases could easily be prevented with some basic lifestyle changes. These changes could increase the longevity of one’s life.

Some of the most common cancer risks include:

    – Tobacco use, which the WHO reports is responsible for killing nearly 6 million people a year. The annual death rate could rise to more than 8 million people by 2030 if urgent actions are not taken.

    – Obesity, which is often the result of a poor eating habit and lack of exercise can lead to a number of health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. These health conditions can result in a shortened lifespan as well as higher insurance premiums.

-Alcohol use, if used socially, should not be a problem. The risk of heavy drinking can lead to many cancer types such as cancer of the oral cavity, liver and breast.

РIonizing radiation, which comes from sunlight as well as tanning beds. Applying plenty of sunscreen during outdoor activities, especially beach visits, is highly advisable.  Health professionals also generally recommend minimizing or even eliminating the use of tanning beds.

By taking steps to adopt healthier habits, people can enjoy a better quality of life while also saving money on insurance costs.
