When it comes to healthy diet and exercise, the benefits can range from a higher quality of life to lower health and life insurance rates.
For example, people who have been diagnosed with cancer or other conditions such as diabetes will often pay higher premiums over time for insurance.
Typically, medical professionals advise people to avoid smoking and other unhealthy practices to reduce their chances of being diagnosed with a serious illness.
More recently, cancer researchers have reported that people who drink more coffee may be at lower risk for head and neck cancers. An announcement from the American Association for Cancer Research also cited a separate study which suggests that men who drink more coffee may have a lower chance of developing prostate cancer.
“What makes our results so unique is that we had a very large sample size, and since we combined data across many studies, we had more statistical power to detect associations between cancer and coffee,” said Mia Hashibe, Ph.D., the lead researcher on the project.
