Country Financial first began “going green” in 1976 by recycling paper. Now, the company recycles bottles, cans, cardboard, electronics, furniture and various office supplies. Country Financial also uses recycled paper, carpet and refurbished furniture. With this initiative, the company saved 1,189 cubic yards of landfill space; 6,741 trees; 2.8 million gallons of water; 156,532 gallons of oil; and 396.5 tons of paper material in 2008.
When Country Financial first started in 1925, they only insured farm equipment and covered fire, lightening and crop hail damage. Today, they offer auto, home, life, business, long-term care, disability income and medicare supplement insurance, in addition to their tried-and-true farm ranch and crop insurance. Other products include mutual funds, trusts, retirement and education funding.
Country Financial is currently sponsoring the “Road Trips and Guitar Picks” summer tours of Jason Aldean and Jewel, running from March to July 2010. The company also offers free music downloads on their site.
